What's in It for You

Strategic and tactical impact
It's not a case of fixing something that's broken, but of making a good thing even better. You'll focus on purchasing but you'll influence the entire supply chain. We're looking for a professional who has the talent to become part of the senior leadership team.

Growth = opportunity
This is a great time to join Professional Plastics. We have initiatives underway to drive growth both organically and via acquisition and, as stated, we're looking at diversifying operations. You'll have plenty of opportunities to showcase your potential to take on new responsibilities.

The broadest portfolio
If it's plastic, we either already stock it or we can get it -- quickly. We stock some 850 types of plastic sheets or sheet accessories alone, and sheets is just one category of product in our offering.

The best products
Professional Plastics is a global distributor of Quadrant EPP materials such as Torlon®, Techtron®, Ertalyte®, Nylatron®, Semitron®, Celazole® and others. We are also a Master Distributor of Meldin® by Saint Gobain, Macor® by Corning, Medical Grade Materials from Rochling and Turcite® by Trelleborg. We also stock the world's largest inventory of DuPont Vespel® shapes through our facilities in the USA, Singapore and Taiwan.

The most diverse customer base
We have the potential to sell to just about any business in any industry, including aerospace, automotive aftermarket, food & beverage, biotech/pharma, electronics/computers, environmental, government, manufacturing, medical equipment, government, textile, watercraft, wineries and many, many others.

Great environment
A strong bottom line is definitely important, but our senior leaders always strive to balance that with what is best for our highly-valued employees. We strive for honesty and integrity in all our dealings to create opportunities for mutual growth among our customers, suppliers and employees.

Excellent compensation
In addition to a competitive salary and bonus incentive program, we offer comprehensive benefits.

Keys to Success

As a distribution company with some light manufacturing, the majority of our business is buying and selling -- things happen fast. If you're coming from an organization that buys the same materials from the same vendors all the time, this may not be the right fit for you. You will need to be agile in making decisions and taking action, and the way we did it yesterday may not be the way we do it today.

We promote a collegial environment and those who thrive here interact with others and learn about what's going on in other departments. You'll need to leverage your interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external contacts. Within a short time you should be seen, in the company, as a leader who is trusted and approachable.

We welcome great ideas and a continuous improvement approach. At the same time, we're not looking for someone to walk through the door and start making major changes. You'll need to understand our operations and processes and, when you do make changes, they should be based on solid analysis -- with a dash of creativity.

Given the diversity of our offerings, you will need to be proactive about quickly learning our portfolio and business model. Within the first year you'll know you are succeeding if:
  • You have earned the trust of the executive leadership team.
  • Your team is hitting targets regarding inventory turns and values.
  • The Sales team is confident in your ability to deliver on their promises.
  • You understand how your decisions impact the rest of company.
